MUSING: Letting Go Of A Friendship

Lately I have been saving lots of Mandy Hale quotes and i'm particularly liking this one because it has helped me clarify some grey areas in my relationship with people. I have reached a decision that there are extent which i can go to make a friendship work or try to 'fix it'.
The truth is that there are people you will meet and like so much that you would always want them to be a part of your life. And when disagreement arise as a result of misunderstanding, you are willing to go out of your way to fix things but unfortunately, it sometimes does not work.
Things begin to feel strange, there are awkward moments and strained conversations between you two, in fact their company or presence is no longer comforting. At this point, the "friendship" takes backward steps and what you now have is "Acquaintanceship". You both are now 'hello and hi', 'how are you?' 'long time no see' buddy!... no more bestie or BFF to share your thoughts and secrets with.

It's at this point that you should really give the situation some serious thought. Just maybe this is where the journey ends for you both. They have played some major role in your life, although not as long as you envisaged but they have got to move on. At some point you have to realise that some people can stay in your heart but not in your life. Think about it, not all your friends from childhood are in your life right now, though you want them to be badly!. So there is no point in trying to extend the friendship like Mandy Hale as rightly put it. Just maybe they were only meant to be for a season. Trust me, those who are meant to be in your life for a lifetime will come along and will always be around against all odds. They will be with you through thick and thin and thick and thick constantly showing you support, Caring for you, and loving you beyond comprehension.
